Barclays are looking for the next squad of 30 Barclays Ball Kids to share the spotlight at the 2012 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 London this November.

Only the top eight players in the world make it to these finals and this is a chance for you, or someone you know, to take part in the action with the likes of Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The Barclays Ball Kids programme is a nationwide ‘X Factor’ style search to find the country’s best ball kids. There are 14 Regional Trials being held around the UK starting Saturday 21st January. The Plymouth Regional Trial will be held on Saturday 3rd March with the successful kids from here progressing to the National Selection Trials in April from which the final squad of 30 Barclays Ball Kids will be chosen.

Entrants should be aged  between 12 – 16 years of age and live in the UK.

Hurry! Applications are NOW OPEN and close on Friday 24th February.

Early in the application process you will be told…
“The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals takes place during term time (5th – 12th November 2012) so if you are selected as one of the final 30 Barclays Ball Kids, you will need permission from your school to participate in the event.”

You will also need your parent or guardian’s permission to take part.

Where?
The London O2 arena in South-East London is a state-of-the-art concert arena. It also includes a music club, cinema, exhibition space, piazzas, bars and restaurants.

Further to our previous notice, arrangements for the Christmas Social and Skittles evening have now been confirmed.

We are proposing to hold a skittles evening on Friday 2nd December at the Westward Inn, Lee Mill, Ivybridge, PL21 9EE.

The skittles evening will include a buffet supper – see menu below. Come and join us for an evening of fun, laughter, good company and good food at a reasonable price. In addition to the skittles match there will be quizzes and, of course, a raffle.

Christmas Buffet menu

Work will commence at 09:00 on Thursday 04 August 2011 and is expected to be finished by 19:00. The lighting arrays on each side of both courts will be refurbished with new lampholders and lamps.

All members and visitors are asked to keep clear of the work as much as possible and therefore the badminton courts will not be available until the work is completed.
